Herman Tam, Group Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the Consumer Products Group of Leggett & Platt, is a marketing innovator, working primarily with companies that strive to become market-driven and consumer-focused. Companies that Herman has worked with have won tens of millions of dollars' worth of new business, by building premium brands and marketing high value, differentiated products, for select customers and end consumers.
Herman has more than 15 years of experience in innovation and growth through marketing, working for industry leaders and premium brands in different space - from international home furnishing retail, Fortune 500 automotive OEM, architectural lighting, to disruptively innovative home improvement products, and luxury appliances. He brings fresh approach and a unique perspective to the sleep industry.
At Leggett & Platt Consumer Products Group, Herman oversees branding, marketing, and product development of sleep accessory products. He works closely with cross-functional teams to develop product, process and marketing innovations. Leggett & Platt® Home Collection™ and Leggett & Platt® Retail Solution™ are two of the latest examples of his innovation leadership.
Prior to joining Leggett & Platt, Herman was the Senior Director of Marketing with Dacor, an innovative, luxury appliance brand. Herman was in charge of formulating and executing brand, product innovation, marketing and customer experience strategies. Earlier in his career, he gained a wide range of experience in developing and marketing incremental, breakthrough and disruptive innovations, and holding positions in business development, strategic planning and operations, with leading brands and companies such as James Hardie, Valmont Industries, Cummins and IKEA.
Herman is a graduate of Vanderbilt University where he earned an MBA with dual concentration in marketing and finance. He received a BBA with concentration in marketing from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He lives in Irvine, CA with his wife of 13 years, Ling, and their 6 year old son Alec.
